Data Deletion Policy
This page explains what "deleting data" means in GarageBook, what you can delete yourself, and how to request full deletion.
1. What you can delete inside the app
- Vehicles, expenses, fuel logs, trips and reminders can each be deleted from their screens. Deleted records disappear from your account immediately.
- Deleting a fuel expense also removes its fuel details.
Being transparent: in-app deletions mark records as deleted in our database ("soft delete") so they vanish from your account instantly; the underlying rows are purged from storage as part of database maintenance rather than at the same moment. They are never visible to any other user and are not used for any purpose.
2. Requesting full deletion of your data
To erase your account and all associated data, email contact.rozbill@gmail.com:
- Subject: Delete my GarageBook data
- Include: your registered 10-digit mobile number
We verify the request against the registered mobile number before acting. We aim to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days. Deletion covers your profile (mobile number, name, PIN hash), vehicles and photos, expenses, fuel logs, trips, reminders, sessions and diagnostics records, except where limited retention is required to comply with law, prevent fraud, or resolve disputes (e.g., the legal-acceptance audit record).
3. Requesting a copy of your data
You may request a copy of the data stored against your account through the same email address (subject: "Copy of my GarageBook data"). We will provide it in a commonly readable format after verification.
4. What we don't have
GarageBook does not collect location history, contacts, messages or browsing data — so there is nothing of that kind to delete. See the Privacy Policy for the full inventory of what is stored.
